"Early Edition" follows Gary Hobson, a former stock broker who in Episode One, woke up one morning to discover a mysterious cat at his front door and tomorrow's newspaper lying next to him. After realizing the paper foretold the events of tomorrow, Gary is able to stop a bank robbery. When the next morning arrives and he gets the newspaper for the day after that, Gary realizes that he has a chance to save lives with the paper telling him what will happen.
The series lasted four years. Eventually, as expected, the series would have run out of ideas, which it did on a rare occasion, but the writers still managed to find clever ways to keep most episodes interesting.

Even as Gary's friend Chuck left the show after the second season to return occasionally, and other characters would be added sporadically, it was only Marissa, who is blind, who was there throughout the entire series to assist Gary.
