Science-Fiction on PBS.

"Doctor Who"

Doctor Who Doctor Who

Besides being the longest running Science-Fiction Series ever made, Doctor Who is pretty much a PBS exclusive, rarely airing outside of PBS in America, with the rare exceptions being a limited run on the Sci-Fi Channel that was messed up (and only certain episodes were allowed to air), and one single commercial station that aired it in the 1980's when the local PBS affiliate couldn't. More recently it has been seen on BBC-America.

Doctor Who Doctor Who

You know Science-Fiction is successful on PBS when it's spoofed on "The Simpsons". Doctor Who has actually made numerous appearances on the show, with several more references to him beyond that.

A Hundred pages could be devoted to Doctor Who. But that's what other sites are for. I'm going to stop here and move on, because there's so many others.
