The third longest running Science-Fiction Series ever made, Red Dwarf is another PBS Exclusive. It was so successful, twice NBC attempted to do an American version of it. The first with a 30 minute Pilot. And when that failed, they re-used some footage from it with all new filmed footage and made a short Presentation Film with a partly different cast.

The 30 minute comedy Series followed Dave Lister, the last human being left alive, aboard the mining ship Red Dwarf. With a Hologram of his annoying dead bunkmate Arnold Rimmer (shown above), a mechanoid service droid (Kryten), the ship's senile computer (Holly), and a creature that evolved from the ship's cat, the series has a strong cult following, and is seen advertised to PBS Affiliates in the PBS magazine "Current" along with programs such as "Ballykissangel". And while Ballykissangel got canceled, Red Dwarf is merely thinking about it.
